Supporting Mesa Conservation District financially…
Mesa Conservation District (MCD) is a significant voice for the agricultural community in the Grand Valley, working hand-in-hand with local landowners and producers to promote sustainability and conservation of our natural resources. MCD works closely with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources and Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS), as well as local community partners to deliver educational programs and technical assistance on a variety of topics. Our annual Local Work Group and Landowner Meetings inform the direction of NRCS programs, giving our local landowners and producers a voice on the issues that are important in our region.
Currently, we are facilitating the Colorado Soil Health Program where we are providing 10 local-enrolled producers with technical and financial assistance in implementing soil health practices in their operations. In addition, we are partnering with Delta Conservation District to bring the Colorado Master Irrigator Program to our region. This program has already positively impacted over 200,000 irrigated acres in Colorado and is aiding in integrating advanced conservation and irrigation management practices. We are also partnering with Colorado State University’s Western Research Center, RiversEdge West, and Colorado Mesa University to provide educational programming to our community on topics such as sustainable crop production, water conservation, wildlife habitat, and water-conscientious landscaping.
These are just some of the important and impactful programs Mesa Conservation District is dedicated to bringing to our community. You can play a part in these local sustainability and conservation efforts and help conserve our priceless Grand Valley natural resources by making a financial donation of any amount below.
